Focus and scope
Acta Neurológica Colombiana (ANC) is a scientific journal that publishes original research articles, literature reviews, clinical cases and update articles in basic and clinical neurosciences. Some of the topics of interest of the journal, without being exclusive, are the following:
- Headache
- Cognitive impairment or dementia
- Cerebrovascular disease
- Neuromuscular disease
- Systemic disease
- Epilepsy
- Multiple sclerosis
- Neural infections
- Abnormal movements
- Neuroepidemiology
- Neurophthalmology
- Neurology

- Neuropsychiatry
- Central Nervous System
- Sleep
The journal is aimed at the international scientific community involved in the study and practice of neurosciences: neurologists, neurology residents and researchers from other specialties who wish to contribute to knowledge in the area or update their clinical practice.
ANC selects its contents through an external peer review process, according to the conditions of the "double blind" system. Regarding ethical considerations in scientific research and manuscript writing, submission, evaluation and publication, the journal follows the parameters of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
ANC articles are published in immediate open access, in continuous publication, through four issues per year. The publication process, however, is free of charge for its authors; the journal does not charge for the submission or publication of articles because it is fully funded by the Colombian Association of Neurology.
The official languages of ANC are English and Spanish, so authors are free to submit their manuscripts in either language.
