Abstract

Although peripheral nerve stimulation was the first described stimulation tecnique, this form of neuromodulation has only gain recognition from interventional pain physicians in the last decade, most likely as a result of the better technology developed. Target nerves beyond the dorsal columns, offer the option to treat painful conditions all over the body. Among these conditions include: chronic daily headaches, occipital neuralgia, interstitial cystitis, axial low back pain, etc.
