Resumen
Los actuales protocolos de tratamiento del estado epiléptico, son en general rígidos, orientados únicamente al manejo de crisis generalizadas tónico clónicas, sin contemplar el resto de tipos de estado epilépticos. En estas guías no se consideran el síndrome epiléptico, edad del paciente, ni comorbilidad asociada. En este articulo se plantean basados en casos clínico; las opciones posibles en el manejo de estado epiléptico, considerando en forma individual cada paciente, en el tipo de crisis, edad, comorbilidad y disponibilidad de nuevos anticonvulsivantes para uso intravenoso.
