Resumen
La neuralgia posherpética (NPH) es la principal complicación del herpes zoster (HZ), el cual normal- mente cursa con dolor y rash por un par de semanas, sin embargo un porcentaje importante de personas presentan dolor de tipo neuropático, prolongado y de difícil manejo clínico, cuadro denominado NPH. Al igual que en el HZ, la incidencia de la NPH aumenta en personas mayores, aspecto relevante, ya que a pesar de los múltiples manejos disponibles, ninguno se considera 100% eficaz. El objetivo principal de esta revisión es hacer un análisis de los elementos farmacológicos y no farmacológicos disponibles para el manejo de la NPH.
